In full: "I wish to extend my congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of your birthday on January 31st. I can not let this opportunity pass without expressing the admiration which I feel not only for your long and successful career in business and for the distinguished public services which you have rendered to your city, state and nation, but above all for what you have been able to accomplish in alleviating suffering, promoting health and saving human life in your own country and throughout the world. You have shown what can be accomplished in a constructive way by a career devoted to the public interests and to the welfare of humanity."
